British experts will attend PERUMIN 33 Mining Convention

The presentation of the United Kingdom at the International Meeting will be delivered on September 19 at the Public University of San Agustín (UNSA) in Arequipa.

The British Embassy extends an invitation to the International Meeting that will be held within the framework of PERUMIN 33 Mining Convention with three British noted experts in mining. The lecture “British innovation and technology in PERUMIN” will be presented on September 19 (12:00 - 1:30) at the Industrial Engineering Room at the Public University of San Agustín (UNSA) in Arequipa.

One of the lecturers will be Darryn Quayle, Mining Expert from the Ministry for Foreign Trade of the United Kingdom He is a mining engineer with 25 years of experience in international commercial and operative mining related to different types of commodities. He also holds a specialization in open pit and underground mining. His lecture will deal with a “Change of culture in the implementation of safe operations”.

While Gawen Jenkin, mineral resources professor at Leicester University and coordinator of the Project for Clean Development of ore processing: deep eutectic solvent ionic liquids. He will present "Innovation in development clean technology in ore processing”.

Eustace Barnes from Cambridge University will close the presentation. He is project coordinator and researcher at Cavendish Laboratory. Through his project, he aims at contributing with technological developments to environmental impact studies. His lecture is titled “Nano technological innovation to measure components in the water”.

Some members of the British delegation that will attend the International Meeting during PERUMIN are the Ambassador, Anwar Choudhury and his advisors; representatives of the Ministry for International Trade of the United Kingdom; the chair of the Peruvian-British Chamber of Commerce, Enrique Anderson and the General Manager Gabriela Aguilar, together with several British companies.


  • PERUMIN 33 Mining Convention, which will be held from September 18 to 22 at UNSA, has become one of the world’s most important mining events where the present situation of the Peruvian mining industry is analyzed.
  • The first edition of the International Meeting will be held in PERUMIN 33 where representatives and distinguished professionals will come from eleven countries to exchange knowledge, technological breakthroughs and success experiences that contribute to the development of competitiveness and sustainability of mining in Peru.
